F.A.Q. > Basic Information > How did this all come together?
The Harbinger was first established by The Dude Von Doom in 2007 during his time as a volunteer DJ at Titan Radio, the internet radio station for California State University Fullerton. (His first show, and predecessor to The Harbinger, was called The Wurlitzer.) The show primarily served as a vehicle for Duder to play some of his favorite metal songs and interview local/underground bands (including Amon Amarth, Children of Bodom, Exmortus, and Bonded By Blood).
By the next semester, Dude didn't feel like doing a metal/music oriented show anymore, and started a new show, Nerd Rage Radio, which focused more on songs that reflected his geekier, comic book-oriented tastes. Around this time, his friend who would eventually become Captain Man became interested in co-hosting NRR. The duo's outrageous dynamic and chemistry was perfect for radio/podcasting, and began culminating a loyal fanbase.
Recently, in the Summer of 2009, the two picked up a friend who would go under the name "Black Bolt" for their first time recording regularly off-air (i.e. when school was not in session). Black Bolt - or Artist Formerly Known As Black Bolt - has become a staple player and completed the Harbinger trinity. Due to his personal schedule, however, Black Bolt had to give up the mic and and monkier, changing his alias to Gentleman Caller, and trading the mic for a phone.
As The Harbinger rode out its final semester/"season" at CSUF, and Cap embarked on his own advetures into the outside/professional world, Doom enlisted a new member of the show - Baron Larseny. Not afraid to be a bit more open about his alter ego, Baron is in fact Erik Wargo of Cherry Spitz, a comedy/improv group stationed in Souther California. After a successful, happy ending to the on-air days of the show, a new chapter begins as our brave heroes enter the brave not-so-new world of podcasting. Everything else is just, like, your opinion, Iron Man.
